Mediation Attorney MaryBeth McCabe, Doylestown, Bucks County, Montgomery County, PA
Mediator MaryBeth McCabe provides Mediation services to parties to a dispute, such as Divorce, child custody or other Family Law matters.
Mediation is a method to resolve disputes in which the parties negotiate to reach an agreement in a private and cost-effective manner. The parties to the dispute meet with a trained neutral mediator who will facilitate the negotiations to help the parties reach a resolution.
For example, in divorce mediation, the divorcing couple meets with the mediator in several sessions to resolve such issues as child custody, child support, spousal support and alimony, and the division of marital property. The mediator does not give legal advice to either of the parties, even if the mediator is an attorney. The mediator does not represent either party.
In mediation, the parties are in control of the discussions, timing and outcome. The mediator facilitates the discussion to help the parties reach an agreement. Once agreement is reached by the parties, the mediator will draft a Memorandum of Understanding.
Mediation is confidential and private. All discussions during mediation are confidential and privileged. In Pennsylvania, the mediator may not be compelled to testify as to any statements made by either party during the mediation process. Your financial information and personal issues remain confidential as they are not filed in Court pleadings.
